====== New toy ====== Yesterday, my personal self-reward for diploma thesis and successful start into working life was delivered: a Nokia E70 Smartphone.

I was drooling over this device for quite some time now, as I had the opportunity of taking a closer look at it somewhen in September thanks to a fellow student. Besides WiFi, Bluetooth, a 2MP camera and a giant display (at least the resolution of 352x416px is giant if you come from the 128x128px of my previous mobile, a 6610), that nice little gadget also comes with the advantage of an actual keyboard. You can fold the whole phone open and then use it sideways with one half of the keyboard beneath each thumb. There was already another Nokia mobile that had this nice touch to its hardware, the 6820, which I had the opportunity to play around with two years ago (thanks again to another fellow student ;)).

On the software side, it comes with Symbian OS 9.1 and the Series 60 3rd Edition Platform on top of it, which opens it up for yet another BIG reason for me to get myself that thing: Python for S60. The foosel is an extraordinarily happy foosel now that it can code on the run, especially since the API offered by this Python port is quite powerful and fun to use :)

Anyway.. I still have to get it to sync with my local calendar and stuff over Bluetooth/OBEX (trying to use OpenSync for this), but I guess I won't be able to keep my self from playing around with the Python API for long ;)
